Ralph Michaelis / "Puka Oct06"

This piece is from very late in the Puka series. I love its simple shape. The edges of the wood around the pukas are rounded and smooth. It was from this piece that I began to develop the idea of carving natural curves and cleavage into a bowl without piercing it in order to achive a natural organic look.
